Electroplating for electrical, RF and connector components
Gold, silver, electroless nickel, tin, nickel, tri-metal and copper plating, and stainless steel passivation. Rack, barrel and vibratory lines, selective masking, and coating thickness measured in-house by XRF.
Send a drawing and your specification. We reply with questions or a quotation within 1–2 working days.
Finishes
Each finish has its own page with substrates, underlayers, thickness practice and the information we need to quote. Thickness is plated to your drawing. Plating aluminium parts? See plating on aluminium.
GoldSoft gold · Hard goldContacts, RF pins and connector bodies
SilverBright · Semi-bright · MatteBusbars, switchgear contacts and RF conductors
Electroless nickelMid-phos · High-phosEven coating on complex shapes and bores
TinBright · MatteSolderable terminals and contacts- NickelBright · GermanBarrier underlayer; corrosion and wear resistance
Tri-metal—Nickel-free white finish for RF connectors- Copper—Underlayers and conductive coatings
- Stainless steel passivation—Restores corrosion resistance after machining
Processes
The line is chosen by part size, weight, geometry and quantity. If you are unsure which suits your part, send the drawing and we will advise.
Rack plating
Parts are fixed to racks individually. For larger, heavier or delicate parts, and where appearance or contact areas matter.
Barrel plating
Small parts tumble in a rotating perforated barrel. Economical for high volumes of pins, screws and terminals.
Vibratory plating
A vibrating basket moves small parts gently. Suited to fine pins and contacts that could bend or tangle in a barrel.
Selective masking
Areas your drawing calls out are masked, so only the specified surfaces are plated.
Industries
Most of our work is for manufacturers of electrical, electronic and connector components.
Electrical & switchgear
Busbars, contacts, terminals and breaker parts
RF, microwave & telecom
Connector bodies and pins, housings, filter parts
Railways & connectors
Circular connectors, pins and sockets
Automotive & EV
Terminals, contacts, busbars and electronic parts
Industrial engineering
Machined and fabricated parts that need wear or corrosion protection
Thickness measured on site
Coating thickness is measured in-house on a Fischerscope X-RAY XAN X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument, up to three layers in one reading, and reported batch by batch. XRF does not damage the part, so measured parts can still be delivered.
We also offer XRF testing as a paid service: coating thickness, gold carat and alloy composition. About the testing service
